Special Education Leaders of Tomorrow gives you the opportunity to explore if becoming a special education is the right fit for you… while you get paid as a full-time employee with benefits!
Now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 cohort of future special education teachers. Work full-time in a classroom while being trained and mentored to become a lead teacher. Teachers-in-training receive mentorship direction from a lead teacher, gain on the job training by working with a variety of students with special needs, take classes on education topics such as writing IEPs, presenting lessons, and classroom management, and receive one-on-one coaching to become the best teacher you can be.


What is Special Education Leaders of Tomorrow?
Special Education Teachers of Tomorrow is an innovative dynamic program where applicants are trained to be special education teachers using a hands-on approach. Learning occurs on-the-job while working every day in the classroom under a lead teacher. You are paid as a full-time employee with benefits. Instruction occurs in an on-site learning program where participants learn to write IEPs, assess students, instruct lessons, and manage a classroom. In the cohort, you will learn with a small community of peers while being coached one-on-one by experienced special educators. Over the course of the year, you will learn what you need to aspire to the role of lead teacher and have the opportunity to apply for a lead teacher position.

You are compassionate, industrious, and eager to learn about a very special population of students.


Key Responsibilities
- Lead classroom activities to promote growth and development for children with disabilities
- Design and teach lessons and individual work assignments to support students’ IEP goals
- Create classroom learning materials
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs
- Implement behavior, feeding, toileting, speech, and mobility plans
- Track student progress through data collection
- Foster a positive classroom environment to encourage social, communicative, and gross motor development
