Woodmont Weavers
In February 2006, Arlington County awarded St. Coletta a competitive contract to run the Woodmont Weavers, an artisan group of adults with cognitive disabilities. Founded in 1988, these talented weavers produce beautiful, handcrafted products such as placemats, pillows, totes, scarves and hats that are offered for sale in the gallery/studio on the second floor of the Ballston Common Mall (4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Virginia).
The Woodmont Weavers program teaches independence, technical and social skills to Arlington adult residents with cognitive disabilities. The weavers are employed by St. Coletta and earn a wage for the work they produce. When they are not weaving, they participate in community integration activities throughout the Metropolitan area.
