Since 2006, St. Coletta has operated the Woodmont Weavers for Arlington County. These talented artisans with intellectual disabilities produce beautiful, handcrafted products such as placemats, pillows, totes, scarves and hats that are offered for sale in the gallery/studio on the second floor of the Ballston Common Mall (4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Virginia).
The Woodmont Weavers program teaches independence, technical and social skills to Arlington adult residents with intellectual disabilities. The weavers are employed by St. Coletta and earn a wage for the work they produce. When they are not weaving, they participate in community integration activities throughout the Metropolitan area. The weavers also have opportunities to make fused glass and learn new skills, like felting.
