St. Coletta becomes a second home for the students and adults we serve. We celebrate their birthdays and holidays. Our students and adults develop deep friendships and find a lasting community full of support, hope, and joy. You help make this possible.
Ten percent of our children live in foster care or group homes and nearly three-fourths of our students qualify for the National School Lunch program, an often used measure of poverty.
While local school jurisdictions cover tuition for students from their district, these funds cover only basic educational costs. It does not provide for many activities and enrichment programs.
Medicaid and fees paid by the local jurisdiction's Community Service Boards contribute to the cost for individuals in our adult programs. But these payments do not cover the full cost.
St. Coletta must rely on the generosity of individuals, corporate and foundation donors to make up the sizable difference between the fees we receive and the full cost of our programs. We depend on caring people to supply the resources that make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.
Your gifts can help us provide activities and other special things that make our students' and adults' lives fuller and more joyful. These range from special trips, Special Olympics uniforms, swimming lessons, holiday presents, and parties.
Your contributions can also help supply adaptive equipment and communication devices that help our students and adults have more independence. Fifty percent of the individuals at St. Coletta have difficulty speaking or cannot talk at all. Communication devices that give voice to their feelings, wants and needs are essential for the human interaction that makes life meaningful.
Your donations enable us to be innovative and at the top of our game so that we can best serve our students and adults as well as their families. Because of the generosity of caring people like you, we are able to pilot new programs and provide ongoing training for our staff.
Thank you for caring about out students and adults and for your generosity.
Thank you! Your support makes a real difference to our students and adults.
